Five teachers assaulted by pupils in Samburu now Transferred

The TSC has transferred five female teachers who were attacked by their Standard Six pupils in Samburu County.

Speaking Thursday at Wild Waters in Mombasa during a headteachers’ meeting, Teachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia said the Kirimoni Primary School teachers have been removed from the hostile area and deployed to safer schools.

“Nobody is going to cane our teachers and we remain silent because when someone canes a teacher he has caned TSC.

Teachers gives Government 21days ultimatum to implement CBA

Teachers have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government to implement their 54 billion CBA.

Knut secretary general Wilson Sossion said failure to do so will result in "the worst strike ever witnessed in the recent past".

"If they do not release the CBA in three weeks, we are not going to use sugar coated words any more but we will declare our stand over the government," he said on Saturday.

Isiolo Teacher Sacco on the spot over alleged Sh77m loss

About 300 teachers who are members of the Isiolo Teachers' Sacco have threatened to sue its employees who are implicated in the loss of Sh77 million.

The teachers, who accused some sacco employees of fraudulently obtaining the amount, leaving its coffers dry, have threatened to withdraw from the sacco.

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) Isiolo branch Secretary Mwiti Gichunge said though a tribunal and an inquiry committee had been formed to investigate the suspected fraud in 2015, no action has been taken.

TSC signs all inclusive pay agreement with teachers’ union

Teachers and their employer on Tuesday signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement that introduces a standard daily subsistence allowance for those working outside their duty stations.

The agreement, the first ever between the unions and TSC, is meant to resolve perennial disputes over allowances and basic pay which have seen learning regularly disrupted owing to strikes by teachers.
