Undergraduate Students

2017 applications now open. Application deadline is Tuesday, May 24, 2016.


This scholarship is open to students from Kenya and Seychelles. It is for those who are interested in undertaking undergraduate courses in Japan.




Duration of Study

A five-year scholarship is offered, including the first year in Japanese language training, beginning in April 2017. For those majoring in medicine or dentistry the term of scholarship is seven years, including the first year in Japanese language training.

Please download all the six (6) documents below. They are all relevant to the application process.

Prospective applicants should read the instructions carefully. Application forms can also be picked from the Japan Information and Culture Centre situated within the premises of the Embassy of Japan along Mara Road, Upper Hill Nairobi.

Documents to be submitted are listed on the application guideline. The form and the documents may be hand delivered or posted but must be received by the Scholarships Desk before the deadline: (Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 4:30pm)
